Elliott questions how many arrests have been made following weaponry seizures at Belfast International Airport

Ulster Unionist Party Justice spokesperson, Tom Elliott has questioned how many people have been arrested or prosecuted after it was revealed that there has been a major haul of weaponry seized at Belfast International Airport within the past two weeks.

Tom said:

“I am deeply concerned to learn that a major haul of weaponry, including air rifles and stun guns, has been seized at Belfast International Airport within the last two weeks, especially when we consider that the majority of these offensive weapons were being brought into Northern Ireland.’

“I will also be enquiring how many arrests and/or prosecutions there have been in relation to these seizures.  While it is a relief to know that the weapons which have been seized no longer pose a risk to the public, it is disturbing to consider such deadly items, and those who have intentions of using them are on our streets.’
