Ulster Unionist MLA Danny Kennedy has expressed his deep concern at the stabbing incident which took place in the Thomas Street area of Bessbrook at approximately 0430 on Sunday morning.
Mr Kennedy who represents Newry & Armagh said:
“Bessbrook could best be described as a quiet village and an incident such as this is completely out of character.
Local people are understandably very shocked that a serious stabbing incident could take place in their midst and I would urge everyone to heed the Police appeal for witnesses to come forward and help them to apprehend whoever was responsible.”
