Ulster Unionist South Down MLA John McCallister has expressed his shock at the news that a 47 year old man who was assaulted in Ballynahinch in the early hours of Sunday morning has died.
Mr McCallister said:
“The local community is shocked that something like this could take place in Ballynahinch causing a man to lose his life.
My sympathies are obviously with the dead man’s family at this dreadful time and I would urge anyone who saw anything of this incident in Dromore Street Ballynahinch at 00:45 on Sunday morning, or who can assist the Police in any way, to come forward immediately.”
