Ulster Unionist Mid-Ulster MLA Sandra Overend has congratulated a Maghera Supermarket which has picked up a top UK retailer award.

“I was delighted to hear that Crawfords Supermarket in Maghera was named the UK’s Best Large Independent Retailer of the Year and I would like to offer my congratulations to Jonathan and the whole Crawford family for this superb accomplishment.
This is a fantastic achievement for Crawfords Supermarket, and, indeed for Mid-Ulster, as it serves to demonstrate the business acumen and skills available in this region. It is the first time ever a Northern Ireland own brand shop has won this award and goes to show the ability of our country to compete on a larger scale.
Crawfords Supermarket is a family run business that has been successfully operating, providing jobs and important resources to the people of Mid-Ulster, for over 100 years. The company was also awarded the UK Best Fresh Produce Retailer of the year, an accolade which serves to further reiterate the company’s commitment to excellent quality produce and customer service.
