Upper Bann MLA, Jo-Anne Dobson has paid tribute to Katherine Kelley and her family after it emerged that her organs had been donated.
The Ulster Unionist said:
“The decision to donate organs is one of the most selfless decisions you can make. Following her tragic, untimely death, Katherine Kelley’s legacy has been to save lives and raise awareness for organ donation.’
“As a mother whose child has benefited from a donated organ, I know the great relief that news that a compatible organ has been found will bring to those families. Even at a time when they are suffering immense grief, the Kelley family has provided others with the gift of life.’
“My thoughts and prayers remain with both the Kelley family and those who are still in hospital as a result of the weekend’s road accident.’
