Swann congratulates former school on winning Rolls-Royce Science Prize

Robin Swann, Ulster Unionist MLA for North Antrim, sends his heartfelt congratulations to his former school, Kells and Connor Primary in Ballymena after it won one of the UK`s most prestigious school science prizes.

“I am absolutely delighted to hear that my former school, Kells and Connor Primary in Ballymena, has been announced as the overall winner of the 2012 Rolls-Royce Science Prize.

Their “Made in Belfast” project not only won over the judges, but also won the school a £15,000 fund to help with advancing the teaching of science. After beating over 2000 other UK schools to this prestigious prize, they also get to spend a day with the Red Arrows.

This is fantastic news for the school and is a compliment to the skills and endeavour of the Headmaster Roy McClelland, pupils, staff and parents. I congratulate them all.”
