Terrorists who attacked police in West Belfast must be rejected - Hussey

Ulster Unionist Policing Board Member, Ross Hussey MLA has expressed his relief that no-one was hurt in a terrorist attack on Police in West Belfast tonight.

Ross said, "I am relieved to hear that no-one was injured during the terrorist attack on the police in the Culmore Gardens area of West Belfast tonight. This is another cowardly attack by republican criminals. It is an attack on both the PSNI and the people of Belfast. The vast majority of people in West Belfast, like the rest of the community in Northern Ireland, want to focus on issues such as education, jobs and the health service. The terrorists who committed this crime offer no hope of a better future for anyone and only a one way ticket to prison. They must be rejected and handed over to the Police.

Following the meeting which my Party Leader, Mike Nesbitt, Tom Elliott and myself had with the Chief Constable today, this outrage committed tonight only further underlines the need for long term funding for the PSNI to be secured to combat the terrorists and to protect the community from their murderous intent."
