Ulster Unionist Party Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has expressed her sadness at the deaths of three people, and the injuries sustained by other on the roads of Mid-Ulster in the last week.
Mrs Overend said,
“It is a tragedy that lives have been lost on the roads of Mid-Ulster this week. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims for their tragic losses. It is heart-breaking, especially in this period leading up to Christmas that several families have to deal with such tragic loss.
“This morning’s accident was the second fatal accident this week, following another incident involving a school bus and a fire engine.”
“Now that the winter months have very much arrived, the roads are getting more treacherous and I remind all motorists and pedestrians that care needs to be taken to prevent further accidents.
“I await confirmation of the police reports detailing the circumstances of each accident and whether any actions can be taken to prevent any further tragedies on our roads.”
