Hussey expresses condolences to family of Jason McGovern and appeals for people to assist the Police

Ross Hussey, Ulster Unionist MLA for West Tyrone, has expressed his shock and sadness at the death of 19 year old Jason McGovern, after he was attacked during a night out in Omagh and he also appealed for people to help the Police with their enquiries.

Mr Hussey said, “I am shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Jason McGovern and would like to pass on my sympathies to this young man`s family. At a time when most people are celebrating Christmas and the opportunities of a New Year, Mr McGovern`s family are faced with the dreadful loss of a son.’

“The events surrounding Mr McGovern`s death are not clear, but it is believed that he was assaulted twice during a night out in Omagh. The PSNI and Gardai have both appealed for information about the circumstances and I would reiterate that call. If anyone in Omagh or farther afield has any information, no matter how insignificant that it may seem, they should contact the PSNI or Gardai immediately.’
