The Ulster Unionist Party’s Mid-Ulster MLA Sandra Overend has condemned the threat sent to SDLP Mid-Ulster representative Patsy McGlone.
Mrs Overend said:
“The last few weeks have seen a number of politicians threatened and today I learned that the Post Office intercepted a package containing a bullet and a sympathy card intended for the SDLP’s Mid-Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone.
An attack on an elected representative is an attack on democracy itself. This is no way to resolve problems and disputes and I unreservedly condemn this action. This act of intimidation will no doubt be the cause of anxiety and concern for Patsy and his family, and my thoughts are with them."
