Ulster Unionist Policing Board Member, Ross Hussey MLA has hit out at a website which made false claims that the PSNI had drafted in 200 Gardaí officers to help deal with rioting in Belfast.
Ross said:
“The “Belfast Daily” website has claimed that the PSNI have drafted in 200 Gardaí officers to help deal with rioting in Belfast. I, along with several of my Party colleagues, have been contacted by members of the public enquiring if this information is true. I have contacted the PSNI directly who have confirmed that this is not the case.’
“It is clear that this item is not a credible news report which has fed out false, inflammatory information to the public at a time when it could have very serious consequences."
