The Ulster Unionist Party’s South Antrim MLA Danny Kinahan has condemned the actions of the gang of armed robbers who held up a family at their home in Ballyclare last night.
Mr Kinahan said:
"I was appalled to learn of the terrifying ordeal this family endured last night at the hands of three armed and masked men. This is a truly shocking incident and my thoughts are with the family at this time.
It is absolutely outrageous that decent, honest people should be terrorised and have the safety of their own home violated. This gang are clearly extremely dangerous and belong behind bars where they cannot inflict themselves on the community.
I appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Millbank Road area of Ballyclare on Thursday night, or who has any information which can assist in catching the persons responsible, to please pass it to the police without delay.”
