Hussey condemns murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe

Ulster Unionist Policing Board Member, Ross Hussey MLA has expressed his sympathies to the family of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, who was murdered near Dundalk, Co. Louth on Friday night.

Mr Hussey said, “I was sickened to hear of the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe. On behalf of my party and many others, I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends and all members of An Garda Siochana. Anyone who carries a firearm is prepared to use it and it is clear that the thieves that were out last night were prepared to murder to get their hands on cash. Garda Donohoe and his family have a strong family police connection and I understand, as a former part-time police officer, their loyalty to the force. ’

“This was a despicable, cold blooded murder of a public servant going about his duties, which we unreservedly condemn. I would appeal to anyone with information to contact either the Garda or PSNI. The two police forces will be working closely together to hunt down the criminals responsible and will be relying upon the public coming forward with evidence and information to put these cowards behind bars.”
