Kinahan expresses relief that no-one was seriously hurt in Downpatrick School bus crash

The Ulster Unionist Party’s Education Spokesperson Danny Kinahan has expressed his relief that none of the 12 special needs children or the bus driver involved in this morning’s bus accident outside Downpatrick were seriously hurt.

Mr Kinahan said:

“My first thought is one of relief that although this was undoubtedly a terrible ordeal for all concerned, none of the children nor the bus driver were seriously injured.

I would like to wish all those involved a speedy recovery and sincerely hope that they are all able to return home as soon as possible.

It is extremely important that there is a full investigation to establish exactly what has occurred here and to see what lessons can be learned.”
