DUP should get back to work on Education Committee - Kinahan

Ulster Unionist Education Spokesperson Danny Kinahan has called on the DUP members of the Education committee to show some responsibility, following their group walkout this morning.

Danny Kinahan said,

“The Education Bill will affect every single pupil in this country for years to come. The Education Committee are currently engaged in a clause by clause examination of the Bill; and what do the DUP do? They walked out this morning for a reason that no-one can quite fathom.’

“The Ulster Unionist Party has made clear its opposition to Sinn Fein`s Education Bill which the DUP currently supports. I can only think that the DUP walk-out is an indication that they now realise the folly of the Bill. I would urge them to return to the table and get some work done so that we can get this Sinn Fein Bill changed.”
