Lutton urges Mid Ulster to vote for representation

Speaking on the eve of the Mid Ulster by-election, the agreed unionist candidate Nigel Lutton said,

“The right to vote is a privilege hard-won and one which we should not take lightly.

This election provides Mid Ulster with a choice between a candidate who will not carry out all the duties expected of an MP and someone who is willing to represent the entire community of Mid Ulster.

“This is an opportunity for the people of Mid Ulster to have representation in Parliament. For sixteen years, Mid Ulster’s voice has not been heard in the House of Commons. On key votes relating to defence, welfare reform, fuel duty and pensions the people of Mid Ulster have been failed.

“I am a unionist. I believe Northern Ireland is best served being part of the United Kingdom. I recognise that not everyone will agree with my constitutional view however, I can guarantee them that I will represent them in the House of Commons if elected. My unionism will not stop me representing anyone from Mid Ulster, regardless of their background. Unfortunately Sinn Fein’s dogma prevents them from representing anyone in this constituency in the House of Commons.

“Thursday’s election is a chance to vote for representation. I encourage everyone in Mid Ulster to use their vote and not miss this opportunity. Vote Lutton for representation.”
