Copeland condemns paint bomb attack on Belfast Orange Hall

Ulster Unionist MLA Michael Copeland has condemned last night’s attack on Belfast Orange Hall.

Mr Copeland said:

“Belfast Orange Hall on Clifton Street is one of the City’s iconic buildings.

It is deplorable that it should be the focus of regular attacks from those who are so insecure in their own culture that they feel the need to attack the symbols of someone else’s.

I utterly condemn this latest attack as I condemn all and any attacks on places of worship, community buildings or private property. Such attacks achieve absolutely nothing and are clearly an attempt to stoke up sectarian tensions and exploit community divisions. They must not be allowed to succeed.”
