Ulster Unionist Agriculture Committee members Jo-Anne Dobson MLA and Robin Swann MLA have praised the members of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society following the success of this year’s Balmoral Show at its new home at Balmoral Park.
Attending a reception at Stormont sponsored by the Agriculture Committee Mrs Dobson, the party’s Agriculture and Rural Development spokesperson said: “Balmoral Show has found a fantastic new home at Balmoral Park and the members of RUAS are to be warmly congratulated on a successful maiden show.
“Chatting to some of the members at the reception it is clear that the Society is not content to rest on its laurels and that there is massive potential for the show to grow and develop at its new home.
“I understand that there are over 200 exhibitors on a waiting list and that entries for the equestrian events are set to at least double for next year’s show. This is fantastic news for the local economy as well as for the Northern Ireland agr-food industry.
"The decision to relocate from The King’s Hall site was one of the most momentous in RUAS’s history, and i hope it will prove to be one of the most successful.”
