McGimpsey encourages public to support World Police and Fire Games

Ulster Unionist Culture, Arts and Leisure Spokesperson, Michael McGimpsey, is encouraging the public to support the World Police and Fire Games which begin on 1st August in Belfast.

The South Belfast MLA said;

‘Hosting the World Police and Fire Games in Northern Ireland is a great opportunity for local people to watch competitors from all over the world compete in a range of sports, from the more common sports such as athletics and Football to the less traditional events like the Tug of War. With 56 sports at 41 venues there is something for everyone to enjoy.’

‘Nearly 6,700 competitors are currently registered to take part from around 60 countries with thousands of visitors also expected. I would encourage local people to get behind the Games and the athletes and make the most of the unique opportunity and atmosphere.’
