McKeegan condemns attack on Apprentice Boys Hall

Foyle Ulster Unionist Ronnie McKeegan has condemned the continuing attacks on the Apprentice Boys Hall in Londonderry.

The Chair of the Foyle Ulster Unionist Association commented;

“The latest attack on this hall is just one of many on-going acts of vandalism on the Apprentice Boys in Londonderry. Just yesterday I met with the City Centre Manager and asked him to move the current CCTV provision in the city to ensure more protection is given to this landmark building in the City. I am also calling on the local PSNI to increase their presence in and around the hall in the run-up to the Apprentice Boys festival in August.

The Loyal Orders in the City have embraced the UK City of Culture, and have been doing everything in their power to improve community relations. These mindless attacks only serve to heighten tensions in the city, and I would call on anyone with any influence to make sure these attacks stop with immediate effect.”
