Ulster Unionist MEP Jim Nicholson has welcomed Amazon’s decision to end its policy of ‘price parity’ across the European Union.
Mr Nicholson said:
“I am pleased that Amazon has decided to act in the best interests of small businesses by ending its ‘price parity’ policy.
“Under this policy, traders on Amazon were forbidden to sell the same products elsewhere for less than on the website, but now this has ended.
“By dropping this Marketplace price parity policy across the EU, Amazon has allowed traders to be completely free in setting prices, ensuring that customers will get the best deal possible. This decision will benefit both small traders and consumers, and I am delighted that Amazon has ended this policy.”
