Make sure to register and use your vote - Elliott

Ulster Unionist Assembly member for Fermanagh & South Tyrone, Tom Elliott MLA has urged people to complete the voter registration forms which have been delivered to homes from 24 August 2013 and return them to Local Area Electoral Offices in order to vote at the European and Local Government Elections scheduled for May 2014.

Mr Elliott said:

“The Ulster Unionist Party fully supports the campaign by the Electoral Office to ensure the Electoral Register is updated and is as accurate as possible.

In a democratic society it is essential that people ensure they are registered to vote, and turn out at election time to ensure their voice is heard.

Politics matters. Decisions are taken in Brussels, Westminster, Stormont and in local Councils which affect important issues such as housing, healthcare, education and employment.

I would encourage everyone to ensure that they return the forms which should have been delivered to their homes, or if not, to either contact the helpline, 0800 4320 712 or download a form from www.eoni.org.uk to ensure that everyone is registered and return to local Electoral Office.”
