There is no crisis at Stormont - Nesbitt

The Ulster Unionist Party Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA, has stated that there is no crisis at Stormont.

Mr Nesbitt said:

“There is no crisis at Stormont. There is just some competitive posturing between Sinn Féin and the DUP. But there is a fundamental issue which has raised itself to the surface again and it is, who really wants to share power, share space and share a future.

“The Ulster Unionist Party does. We want to share power because it is the right thing to do for Northern Ireland’s future. We want shared space and a shared future because that is the only way you can do what’s right for future generations.

“It is clear that many in the DUP struggle to tolerate power sharing, and when Gerry Kelly tweets in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Maze Escape, you have to question Sinn Fein's commitment to mutual respect in general but specifically the feelings of the friends and family of the prison warden he shot that day.

“The Ulster Unionist Party will not be deterred by the current spat. It is time to deliver and do what's right for Northern Ireland.”
