Ulster Unionist Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA, said he hoped the Twaddell Initiative would be greeted in the spirit in which it was offered, and yield an appropriate and proportionate response.
Mike Nesbitt said:
"We need a level playing field for the Haass Talks to succeed. Having a 2013 Parade stuck incomplete does nothing to help. The guarantee that dialogue for 2014 will follow immediately should residents endorse the resolution of this 2013 impasse is interesting and challenges the traditional narrative of unionist intransigence.
"I have called for some time for a spirit of generosity to be shown by all. This may open to the door to such a game-changing attitude."
