Cree condemns robbery at Holywood Church

Ulster Unionist North Down MLA Leslie Cree has condemned an assault and robbery which took at St Colmcille’s church in Holywood on Tuesday evening.

Mr Cree said;

“I was shocked to learn that two thieves went to a Church and threatened a priest with a hammer before forcing him into the parochial house and stealing money and a mobile phone.

These are clearly two very dangerous individuals who need to be caught as soon as possible before they can endanger anyone else.

I share the anger and concern of the local community in Holywood and I would appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the vicinity of St Colmcille’s at approximately 18:20 on Tuesday night, or who has any information regarding this incident, to contact the Police immediately and help catch the people responsible.”
