Kennedy condemns suspect object on bus

Ulster Unionist Transport Minister, Danny Kennedy has condemned an incident this evening when a suspect incident was left on a bus in Londonderry. The incident happened on the Northland Road area this evening.

Danny Kennedy said: "I want to first praise the bravery of the bus driver who had to deal with this frightening situation. The driver showed immense courage under very difficult circumstances.

"Attacks on public transport impact the entire community who depend on buses and trains to get to work, school, hospital and go about their daily business.

"Translink staff provide a vital service to thousands of people and they should be allowed to carry out their work without fear of threat or intimidation."
