Kinahan shocked at Mivan Administration

The Ulster Unionist Party’s South Antrim MLA, Danny Kinahan has expressed his shock at the news that Antrim based firm Mivan is to go into Administration amidst fears for 300 jobs.

Mr Kinahan said:

“Mivan has a wonderful reputation gained over almost four decades in the field of construction and fitting out a range of commercial and residential developments including cruise ships.

“I was aware that the Company was experiencing some difficulties and that a merger with Lagan Holdings was under consideration but this has not materialized and the firm now faces administration.

“My primary concern is for the 300 jobs under threat and of course the sub-contractors who are owed money by Mivan.

“I shall be contacting the Enterprise Minister to ensure that her Department is doing everything possible to assist the Administrators and to protect as many jobs as possible in order to mitigate what is potentially a devastating blow to the local economy.”
