Reopening of Coroner`s Inquests into Kingsmills Massacre is a significant moment in long campaign for justice – Kennedy

Danny Kennedy, Ulster Unionist MLA for Newry and Armagh, has welcomed the news that all the Coroner`s inquests into the Kingsmills Massacre are to be reopened on Monday morning.

Mr Kennedy said:

“I welcome the news that inquests into all the Kingsmills murders are to be reopened. This is a significant moment in a long campaign for justice and tribute must be paid to all the families and campaigners who have been persistent in their lengthy battle for justice.

“It has been 38 long years since the dreadful events of that terrible day took place. I am greatly encouraged by the determination of all the families and the only survivor Alan Black, to see maximum justice attained.

“I hope to attend the opening of the Coroner`s inquests in the morning and will continue to work closely with the families and give them whatever assistance I can during their campaign for justice.”
