Ulster Unionist Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has welcomed the extension of a cycle path on A31 Castledawson Road, Magherafelt.
Mrs Overend, who is the Assembly Private Secretary to the Minister for Regional Development, said:
“I very much welcome the extension of the Cycle Path on the A31 Castledawson Road and met the Minister, Danny Kennedy MLA, on site just a few days ago. This 500 metre extension will link the cycle lane from the end of Pound Road and Aghagaskin Road.
“I am very pleased that the Regional Development Minister recognises the value of promoting cycling and a development such as this is welcome news for local cyclists, coming on the back of excellent upgrades to the Castledawson Road last year. Work is due to begin on 24 February, and is expected to last for around 4 weeks.”
