Mid-Ulster Ulster Unionist MLA Sandra Overend has welcomed the news that Toomebridge based SDC Trailers are to create 40 new jobs, after securing an order from a Saudi Arabian firm.
Mrs Overend commented,
"At a time of job losses around the country, the creation of forty new posts is very welcome news- especially for the people of Mid-Ulster, where SDC is a major employer.
“This is a local company who have established themselves on a European, and now a global scale. I understand that this is their first venture in the Middle East. Having visited the firm recently I recognise the efforts made by the management in breaking into new export markets, and the hard work of the workers across the firm.
“It is very important that we encourage our local businesses to increase exports and help them to do so in every way possible. I congratulate SDC on breaking into this new market in Saudi Arabia and wish them well in their efforts to target more export business.”
