Ulster Unionist Party Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA, has said the judicial inquiry into the On the Runs issue may reveal some of the factual detail behind the ‘Administrative Scheme’, but the real issue is the bad faith demonstrated by Sinn Féin.
Mr Nesbitt said:
“We are supposed to working for the better of all 1.8 million citizens of Northern Ireland, but clearly Sinn Féin are prepared to risk everything for 200 unnamed people. I do not know who they are. I suspect I know the sort of criminality they are accused of. But Sinn Féin know, and it is up them to restore confidence in the political process.
“The judicial inquiry may reveal some of the factual detail behind the ‘Administrative Scheme’, but the real issue is the bad faith demonstrated by Sinn Fein.”
