Ulster Unionist Party MLA for Newry and Armagh Danny Kennedy has expressed his sorrow at the tragic outcome of the fishing boat accident on Lough Ree, near Athlone, in the Republic.
Mr. Kennedy said:
“On behalf of the Ulster Unionist Party I want to send my sympathy to the friends and family of the men caught up in the tragic accident on Lough Ree yesterday. This is a dark day for County Armagh, especially the Richhill area, and for all those associated with the Portadown Pikers’ Angling Club.
We can only hope and pray that the missing angler is found, and for the full recovery of the fisherman currently hospitalised.”
