Ulster Unionist Party Leader Mike Nesbitt has welcomed today’s announcement by Sports Minister Caral Ni Chuilin that £1.5 million is to be made available for Coleraine Showgrounds as part of the legacy from Londonderry’s term as UK City of Culture.
Mr Nesbitt said;
“At Question time at Stormont today I asked the Minister for Culture, Arts & Leisure for an update on her work to ensure the legacy of Londonderry as the UK City of Culture.
“As part of her answer, the Minister stated that £1.5 million would be made available for upgrading Coleraine Showgrounds.
“This is a most welcome development and will greatly enhance the facilities at the Showgrounds and ensure that the legacy from Londonderry’s term as UK City of Culture will be spread beyond the Maiden City itself and throughout the wider north-west area.”
