Jim Nicholson MEP has condemned a spate of attacks on members of the Polish community in East Belfast over the weekend.
Mr Nicholson said:
“The ongoing targeting of members of the Polish community in East Belfast is an absolute disgrace. There is absolutely no justification for these attacks and they only serve to damage the image of East Belfast and Northern Ireland.’
“I hope that the PSNI and in particular their new team set up to specifically crack down on those behind hate crimes will be well supported in tackling these attacks which are becoming disturbingly common.’
“As a society we must be clear and unambiguous in our rejection of these attacks.’
