Dobson Welcomes Successful Waringstown Drug Raid

Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson has welcomed a successful raid by the PSNI which took place on Tuesday afternoon, targeting illegal drugs in Waringstown.

Mrs Dobson said: "The actions of the PSNI in removing 4,500 suspected ecstasy tablets from the streets, and arresting three individuals suspected of involvement with illegal drugs is to be welcomed.

"I and my party colleagues have met with senior PSNI officers on a number of occasions to urge them to take decisive action to stamp out the dealers.  We cannot lose any more of our young people to drugs.

“Anyone who feels they have the right to sell or pedal drugs in our community should feel the full force of the law.

"There should be zero tolerance of drugs on our streets. I commend the actions of the PSNI in clamping down on those involved in any way with drugs in Waringstown, and also the hard work of everyone involved in community work in the village.

"As with all of these issues, intelligence is the key, and I would again urge anyone who has information about illegal drugs to contact their local police station on the new non-emergency number 101.”
