The Ulster Unionist Party’s Fermanagh & South Tyrone MLA Tom, Elliott has welcomed the news that some 20 jobs will be retained at Fivemiletown Creamery as the result of a new partnership between the farmers' co-operative and Dale Farm.
Mr Elliott said:
"There was great disappointment when it was announced that Fivemiletown Creamery was to close after 100 years.
“The Creamery was a very successful business, winning award after award and provided very steady employment for people in the surrounding area.
“I welcome the fact that 20 jobs will be saved as a result of a deal to produce Fivemiletown speciality cheese brands for Dale Farm and am in no doubt that this deal is down to the well-deserved reputation for quality which the creamery has built up over many years.”
