Mr Swann said:
“Placing restrictions on this parade has taken what could have been a positive move for Portadown, and parading in Northern Ireland more broadly, and turned it into another contentious parading problem.
“When the focus should be on trying to find a solution for the remaining contentious parades in Northern Ireland, this u-turn opens up a new problem.
“The Parades Commission must be strong in their decision making and not appear to cave-in at the first sign of opposition. The flip flop over this decision doesn’t create a good climate as we head into the summer months.
