Danny Kennedy, the Ulster Unionist MLA for Newry and Armagh, has welcomed the announcement of 484 new jobs at First Derivatives, the leading financial services consultants headquartered in Newry.
Speaking at the jobs announcement event in Newry, Mr Kennedy said:
“The story of First Derivatives is one of tremendous growth and expansion which is of great credit to the local founder and Chief Executive of the company, Brian Conlon. From small beginnings in Newry it now has an operational presence in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia with about 900 people working for the company in Newry, New York, Shanghai and Sydney.
“It proves again that local companies with inspirational leadership can succeed in the global marketplace. Today’s expansion announcement is great news for the Newry district in particular, and Northern Ireland in general.”
