Overend hails jobs boost for Cookstown

Ulster Unionist Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend has welcomed a jobs boost for local company CDE global, who have announced that they are to create 50 new jobs in Cookstown.

Mrs Overend said:

“CDE Global is a world class company, located in the heart of Mid-Ulster. They have consistently expanded and grown their business and the services they offer.  Only last year they announced a £2.7m investment in the business to help their global export reach. The announcement today that 50 new jobs will be created in Cookstown comes as a direct result of those investments, and will go a long way to helping the local economy.

“These jobs are a very welcome development in a story of success in Mid-Ulster. I understand that a number of the jobs have already been put in place, and the remaining ones will be delivered shortly.

“I met CDE Global’s Managing Director, Mr Brendan McGurgan, on Monday evening at an InterTrade Ireland event in Parliament Buildings when we discussed developments in the industry and within CDE specifically. He emphasised the importance of selling the good news stories about Northern Ireland across the global business community which can have a hugely positive impact on commercial success here.

“This Cookstown success story will help to boost the image of Northern Ireland as a good source of top-class engineering and manufacturing, and a good place to do business.”
