The East Antrim MLA said:
"Guns being brought out and used in the early evening in a residential area is deeply disturbing. There is no role for such behaviour in a civilised society.
The only organisations who have the right to carry weapons are the police and army, and I would urge everyone to put their faith exclusively in the PSNI to investigate crime and uphold law and order. I would ask anyone with any information about illegal criminal activity to provide information to the police or to the Crimestoppers confidential number 0800 555 111"
