South Antrim MLA Danny Kinahan has expressed his shock after a pupil at Parkhall Primary School brought home a gun he had found in the school playground.
The Ulster Unionist commented;
“It is extremely worrying that this ten year old boy found a gun in his school playground. We are very lucky that no one was injured as a result.’
“I am angry that someone has just dumped such a dangerous weapon in a school playground were a child could easily have been killed had the weapon been dispensed.’
“I am sure this has been a traumatic experience for the child and his family. I would urge anyone who has any information at all on this incident to contact the PSNI immediately.’
