Kennedy welcomes DSD plans for Newry City Centre

Newry & Armagh MLA, Danny Kennedy has welcomed the launch plans by the Department of Social Development for the regeneration of Newry city centre over the next 10 - 15years.

The Ulster Unionist commented;

“The plans launched today by the Department for Regional Development mark an exciting future for Newry.  The planned regeneration will make a must see City for tourists visiting Northern Ireland.’

“This is also excellent news for the people of Newry as the city centre will become a hub for shopping and socialising as new life is injected into the area with a new waterfront and integration of Buttercrane and The Quays into the city centre retail area.’
