Elliott congratulates Michael D Higgins Ulster Unionist Leader Tom Elliott has sent his congratulations to Michael D Higgins on his success in the Presidential Election in the Republic of Ireland.
Mr Elliott said;
"On behalf of the Ulster Unionist Party I would like to congratulate Michael D Higgins on his election as the ninth President of the Republic of Ireland. I am confident that he will build on the legacy left by his predecessor, and continue the work of building bridges and helping to create better understanding based on mutual respect. I look forward to working with him on matters of mutual benefit to both Northern Ireland and the Republic."
