Overend encourages the public to have their say on draft Bicycle Strategy

Sandra Overend MLA has encouraged the public to have their say on the draft Bicycle Strategy at a series of public consultation events across Northern Ireland.

Mrs Overend, who is the Assembly Private Secretary to the Transport Minister Danny Kennedy and a member of the All Party Group on Cycling, said:

“Transport Minister Danny Kennedy is committed to delivering a cycling revolution in Northern Ireland, and the publication of the draft Bicycle Strategy is the latest step in driving this forward.

“The public consultation events that are taking place across the country provide you with the chance to make a contribution to the future of cycling in Northern Ireland ahead of the publication of the final strategy early next year.

“The strategy is designed to improve conditions for cyclists and in doing so encourage more people to use a bicycle for everyday journeys, whether that is for commuting or leisure, creating a cycling culture in Northern Ireland.
