Ulster Unionist MEP Jim Nicholson has congratulated Transport Minister Danny Kennedy on his work in obtaining £2.8million funding from Europe to help progress the proposed Transport Hub in the centre of Belfast.
Mr Nicholson said:
"The successful European Commission bid is good news for Belfast. The proposed transport hub development at Great Victoria Street will undoubtedly improve the city’s infrastructure with benefits not only for those who live there, but also for people who commute from other parts of our province, as well as those travelling from the Republic of Ireland.
"The development will not only bring considerable and much needed extra employment, but also improve the global image of our capital city as a modern metropolis.’
