Kinahan condemns cowardly attack on Crumlin pensioner

Ulster Unionist MLA Danny Kinahan has condemned last night’s attack on an 80 year old man near Crumlin, in which he was tied up with cable during a break in at his home.

 The South Antrim MLA said;

 “I am disgusted that once again an elderly person has been terrorised in their own home by a gang of cowardly thugs.

 I appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Calvert Road area outside Dundrod near Crumlin around 22:40 on Tuesday night to come forward immediately. Not only must this gang of thugs be punished for this crime, they must also be prevented from terrorising any more innocent people.

 Just over a week ago an 89 year old woman was attacked by a gang in her home on the Antrim Road in Crumlin, today the victim is an 80 year old man. I hear a lot of people talking about human rights. Well the human rights of our senior citizens are being violated and as far as I am concerned, it is long past time that that the rights of victims are considered as paramount, because people have simply had enough.”
