Dobson pays tribute to ‘inspirational campaigner’ Una Crudden

Ulster Unionist Health Spokesperson Jo-Anne Dobson MLA has paid tribute to cancer campaigner Una Crudden who has passed away.

Describing Una as an inspiration, the Upper Bann MLA said:

“I am deeply saddened to hear the news that Una Crudden has passed away.

“Una was an inspirational fighter, tackling not only her own personal battle with cancer, but at the same time taking forward her campaign to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer.

“I was so proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with her back in February when she was named Belfast Telegraph Woman of the Year and to support her throughout her campaign.

“Una leaves behind a proud legacy of helping all women.  Through her tireless determination she made sure that the battle against Ovarian Cancer had a voice at the heart of Government.

“Because of Una lives have been saved, and her campaign will ensure that they continue to be saved in the months and years to come.

“It is desperately sad to hear today that she has lost her battle with cancer and my thoughts and prayers are with her family circle and friends - we are all the poorer for her passing.”
