West Tyrone Ulster Unionist MLA Ross Hussey has condemned those behind today’s security alert at an Omagh Primary School.
Mr Hussey said:
“I simply cannot comprehend the mentality of anyone who would cause a security alert at a Primary School, but that is exactly what has happened today at Omagh County Primary School.
“Who in their right mind would want to disrupt the lives of young children and cause them to be evacuated from their school in the depths of winter?
“In addition to the fear and confusion of the children, parents will also have been concerned and traffic chaos was created in the Campsie Road area.
“The entire community will be disgusted at this incident. Omagh has suffered more than enough and whoever is behind this incident should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
“I know that the people of this town and the rest of West Tyrone just want to live their lives and bring up their families in peace and safety. If anyone can assist the Police in catching whoever was responsible for this security alert I would appeal to them to come forward immediately. “
