Allen urges people to contact police with information about Ballysillan robbery

Andy Allen, North Belfast Ulster Unionist, has condemned the robbery of the Co-op in Ballysillan, North Belfast on Saturday evening.

Police have reported that three masked men carrying suspected firearms made off with cash and cigarettes.

Andy Allen said:

"This is the latest in a spate of robberies and attempted robberies in the wider area over the past year."

"Thankfully no one was injured, but this will undoubtedly have been a frightening ordeal for staff and customers and my thoughts are with them all at this time."

"I would encourage anyone who might be able to help the police to bring the perpetrators of this cowardly robbery to light, to contact the PSNI on their non-emergency number 101 or should you wish to remain anonymous you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
