Councillor McGimpsey said:
“This will be a deeply stressful time for those who find their jobs at risk as a result of this announcement. There will be people affected who have worked in these Tesco stores for a long time.
“It is deeply disappointing to hear of the closures of these two stores in East Belfast. I will be lobbying the company to ensure that staff affected are offered the opportunity of redeployment to other stores.”
